Established in the 10th century, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has an intricate history blending Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and Yugoslavian identities, religions, and cultures. American Councils BiH opened in Sarajevo in 2003 and has since administered and supported international scholarships for hundreds of educators and other professionals, as well as college and high school students.
