Get Connected with the Alumni Network
Are you among the thousands of alumni of an American Councils study abroad program? If so, take advantage of a number of opportunities and networks that we have in place for our alumni:
Alumni Ambassador Program
Interested in representing our programs? Each year we nominate students to become alumni ambassadors to represent our various programs. Alumni ambassadors are the face of our programs and help us by promoting American Councils outbound programs on campus and online, posting on social media, and by supporting us at American Councils events. Being an alumni ambassador is a great way to gain valuable communication and leadership experience, all while sharing impressions and experiences from your time abroad! Email us for more details on becoming an alumni ambassador.
Connect on LinkedIn and build your professional network with others who share similar interests. Additionally, enjoy special announcements/invitations from American Councils plus curated articles and job postings focused on Russia, Eurasia, and the Balkans. Get started today.
Help us support study abroad by donating to the Outbound Scholarship Fund for Study Abroad. The Outbound Scholarship Fund for Study Abroad was established in order to provide students with additional funding for study abroad in Eurasia, Russia, and the Balkans. You can help students study abroad by donating to the fund here.
Throughout the year, we plan regional and local (Washington, DC) alumni events specifically for alumni, along with issuing invitations to American Councils special events. Recent events have included receptions, networking events, happy hours, silent auctions, and roundtable/panel discussions. Keep up-to-date on these events by joining the LinkedIn Group or by liking our page on Facebook.
Alumni Stories and Updates
Want to know what other American Councils alumni are up to? Check out stories from our alumni and scholarship recipients on what they are doing today. Want to let others know where your study abroad program has taken you? Email us with an update on what you are doing and how your study abroad experience changed you.
Looking for a volunteer opportunity in the D.C. area? Each year, our secondary schools programs need help evaluating applications from high school students for our FLEX, YES, and NSLI-Y programs. This is a great way to learn more about different cultures and countries all while supporting international education. Learn more about evaluating applications here.
